Camino de Santiago, Basque Country, Spain
Stretching from St. Jean-Pied-du-Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, this 500-mile* Christian pilgrimage along the Basque coast is lined with castles, bridges & lighthouses. Such surreal beauty, it's easy to lose yourself in the mysticism of it all. But just when you think you're actually lost, you encounter one of those magical yellow arrows. Call it the Spanish version of the yellow brick road. Except, rather than Oz, you're just trying to make it to the next bus stop to rest after all those uphill climbs.
*You don't have to hike all 500 miles to enjoy the Camino. There are trail heads every few miles.
I hiked a span of 33 miles, from Zumaia --> Hondarribia
